In the late 1930’s, A.P. “Phil” Taylor, a plumber and builder by trade, purchased roughly 150 acres of land in what is now North Parkersburg. In the Summer of 1941, Worthington Golf Club opened for business.
Nearly 75 years later, the course is still operated by the Taylor family.
Worthington is an exciting 18 hole regulation course with tree lined fairways. It is the only course located within the Parkersburg city limits and is convenient to most dining and lodging.
The course’s Ladies’ and Senior Men’s leagues are some of the largest and oldest in the state. It is also host to several annual tournaments and golf outings.
